Active Investing not your style? You don't have time to even look at stocks? You find out you don't like trading/investing but you want to make big money without doing all the hard work?

Why don't you invest in some of these funds for the long term...

Perritt is one of the best. This is one of the funds I always recommend to people who want to invest in mutual funds.

But you can get notified when they open it. Usually during bear markets they will open. CGM Focus is the same way.

I love that fund...CGM Focus

I read that article too and contemplated posting it. I like that fund a lot. I am on some list too. I just want to own these funds in my Scottrade IRA account. I have Hennessey Cornerstone I fund only right now.

no. I don't follow funds. I am just listing funds that use a similar style to mine. Why funds do what they do...I don't know that or have the ability to want to.

i am sure it was an annual Capital Gains distribution. this is the time of the yr for that and hence why you will see big gap downs on many mutual funds charts(at least the ones who made money and realized cap gains)....

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THIS IS A BAD TIME OF THE YR TO BUY NEW MUTUAL FUNDS FOR ANY TAXABLE ACCOUNTS DUE TO CAPITAL GAINS DISTRIBUTIONS....ESPECIALLY AFTER A MUTUAL FUND HAS ALREADY HAD A STRONG RUN YOU CAN BE ASSURED YOU WILL SEE CAP. GAINS DISTRIB.......you can usually go to the fund website and they will post ahead of time when their cap. gains distrib will be

josh, the vanguard is an index fund, so tough comparison ? would make sense he has 100's of positions like index, and has been outperforming  because midcap has been outperforming the lagging S&P large cap (kind of skewed comparing it t0 s&p500 for the proxy index......)

is CGM focus fund still closed ? its doesnt show on the IBD chart above?
