"What is worth doing is worth doing for money" - - Gordon Gekko |
| Success is a State of Mind - - Tommy Bahama Profits always take care of themselves but losses never do. The speculator has to insure himself against considerable losses by taking their first small loss. - - Jesse Livermore The game of speculation is the most uniformly fascinating game in the world. But it is not a game for the stupid, the mentally lazy, the man of inferior emotional balance, nor for the get-rich-quick adventurer. They will die poor. - - Jesse Livermore |

"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey…But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb." – Winston Churchill |

"Winners think, feel, and act differently than losers. You must look within yourself, strip away your illusions, and change your old ways of being, thinking, and acting. Change is hard, but if you want to be a professional trader, you have to work on changing your personality" - Dr. Elder
i also like Elder's other saying "Do not get greedy and rush to trade - take your time to learn. The markets will be tgere with more good opportunities in the months and year ahead" |

oops, i forgot my favorite quote from Dr. Elder's book
"Remember, your goal is to trade well, not to trade often."
that is probably 1 of the best sentences on investing/trading i have seen, its so simple but says a lot.
(anyways, i just finished Elders book hence all the quotes and enjoyed it(thankfully i have a terrific public library so i dont have to buy all these books) i am going back writing down in my notebook what i wanted to take out of his book and saw these quotes i had marked so i wanted to share them) |

It is not the critic who counts...The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, and spends himself in a worthy course; who at the best, knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who, at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly.
--Theodore Roosevelt, 26th US President
People who are successful simply want it more than people who are not.
--Ian Schrager, hotelier
I suffer no slings and arrows. I just sail on. That is the secret of success in life.
--Robert Maxwell, British Publisher
God doesn't require us to succeed; he only requires that you try.
--Mother Teresa of Calcutta, missionary
We must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
--John F. Kennedy, 35th US President
MY FAVORITE QUOTE FOR TODAY........................
Achieving goals by themselves will never make us happy in the long term. It's who you become, as you overcome the obstacles necessary to achieve your goals, that can give you the deepest and most long-lasting sense of fulfillment.

most interesting analogy for trading: (there is no shortcuts to becoming a good trader)
