Btw, speaking of hockey. That game seven between the Hurricanes and Oilers was amazing. The joy in the players faces after the Hurricanes won was without a doubt "a great sports moment." If anyone watched that game live you will know what I am talking about. That atmosphere and the play was simply spectacular.

It also was played on the last day my friend from St. Louis was here. What a way to cap off one of the best weeks of the year this year for me.

I am so glad to have hockey back.

I will gamble my money away for you Phailin, don't worry.

On my honeymoon flight...was on a Sunday...flying from O'Hare to Kahalui...we had crossed onto the Pacific Ocean...about an hour after that I used the satellite phone to check fantasy...called my dad...was like dad its chris...he was floored...i need to know the score of the pats game...LOL...I got scores for most of the economy plus class on the united flight!!!

I suffered from "one gameitis" where i would parlay 3-6 games on football sunday.  I would always, without fail have every game correct except for one game.  SO many times that one game going against me would come back to cover the spread, and with minutes...often seconds to go in the game i'd hear something like "4pm on Espn radio, before we get to the late games we goto Foxboro, our man john is there...john....yes rich it looked like the pats were home and cooled out but a brady interception led to a colts touchdown and on the ensuing short kick the ball bounced off the ref's head and careemed laterally into the arms of the kicker who ran in unabated to give the colts an unlikely 2 touchdowns in the last 10 seconds win to purposefully screw Phailin who had 800 dollars snatched away from him.  Seriously, i was on the wrong side of the music city miracle..remember the last ditch punt return lateral?  The norwood kick...wide right.  The superbowl where the rams?? receiver was tackled on the goal line on the last play of the game...i needed that for the over.  ................the weird thing about the hurricanes oilers series was that 30% of the canes players were from edmonton or the province of alberta................on my honeymoon i slept with a sportsmans radio under my pillow to listen to an angels / jays game that i had money on, lost of course on a 9 run ninth and extra innings rally from behind by the jays...........damm i miss sports so much.

Yanks mortgaging the future again...getting Lidle and Abreu for 5 prospects...

Yanks have the payroll to do this...Abreu is owed more than 37 million after this season...unbelievable amount of cash.

This doesn't scare me...Lidle isn't a great pitcher, post-season you need to have pitching!!!

Hey now!!!

Red Sox, if they lose will still be up a .5 game on the Yankees.

But still a lot of baseball left!!!!  NEVER GIVE UP I TELL YOU!!!

Don't be surprised if the Sox do not get a trade done.

Don't be surprised if the Mets run over the whole NL and make it to the World Series. I still believe.
