I couln't believe that either.

If you had any confidence of them keeping up with the Yankees, that series had to hurt a LOT.

They aren't done yet, but are pretty close...they need to sweep the Orioles to have any hope.  Big series coming up next week...Blue Jays and the Yankees

I lost 4 minutes of my life watching that. I can't believe I watched the whole thing. I was trying to figure out what the heck was going on.

It was all in fun. As long as they had a great time.

Dear Friends,

As the awful civilian death toll rises above 1000 in Lebanon and Israel,
people around the world are seeking a place to voice their frustration
and concern. Over the last 4 days, 200,000 people from 148 countries
have signed the ceasefire petition. At this rate, we could soon be the
largest global online petition in history.

The pressure is working. The global outcry over this crisis has pushed
the Ambassadors to the UN Security Council to work around the clock to
achieve an immediate ceasefire.

The latest word is that the Council may be close to a final vote today
or tomorrow, but we've been this close before and negotiations have
fallen apart. We need more pressure now to close the deal.

Please forward this email on, spread the word to your friends, family
and colleagues, post a link on your blog, bring up the campaign in
discussions, and urgently encourage people around you to join this
global wave of protest by signing up at the link below:

The pressure is working. Let's ratchet it up.

With hope,

Ricken Patel, Ceasefire Campaign

Cease fire? Oh great. I am sure Hizbollah will NEVER attack Isreal again if this happens.

How many cease fires have led to peace? NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess the French and Americans have reached a cease fire agreement...who would have thunk.

We have the UN to thank for this Middle East mess.  I suggest everyone looking up how Israel was formed...not that I advocate or agree with the methods these terrorist use but it is an interesting story how this "anger" with Israel began.

Now, if anyone has studied Islam I suggest going back to their history...it seems that every religion has some sort of ugly past.

Religious wars have killed more people than both world wars combined...sad.

I didn't know if I should post any reply to that petition, but I will.    The UN is an absolute joke, and no one seems to realize that this is all Hezbollah's fault, not Israel's.    They are simply defending themselves.    Cease-fires have no point when one side is uncivilized and has no regard for any form of human life.    You can't use reason, talking, etc, when dealing with terrorists.

It boils down to that we need to learn how to live with other people's culture/religion their way of life.  Over our vast but young history, relative to the earth's age we have a long way to go!

Actually market, more people have died in fascist wars than religious wars.

Let me get the stats for you....it may take a while to find but I can find them.

The only way for peace is to destroy the evil that prevents the peace.

All Israel wants is peace. They give up land in exchange for peace.

The other side wants NO peace. Only the destruction of Israel.

Israel was created by the UN. The least they should do is support them with their struggle for existance.

My problem with the whole situation is the bombing by isreal kills way more civilians than anything and destroys a country just starting to get back on it's feet... i bet the terrorists have used these events much more to their advantage then their detrement... if there is outrage by so many in NA (even if it's not the majority) think how opinions are in the middle east

Religious Wars Mythbusting

How many people over the years have ever heard someone say the following: "More people have been killed over religion than for any other reason". The people that say that are usually non - believers, and it sure seems to make them feel morally superior when they say it, especially when said to a believer. However, the statement is patently false.

The reason is that in the 20 th Century, the bloodiest of all of the centuries, more people were killed for godless ideology than the other 19 Centuries combined. 50 million people died in WWII alone, and that was for Hitler's Nazis and for Stalin's Communists, neither of who were believers in the Almighty. Stalin also murdered millions of his own people in Russia and the Ukraine before the war, as well as after the war. The worldwide Communist Revolution of the 20 th century is estimated to have killed over 100 million people alone, in Cuba, Eastern Europe, Asia, etc.

Previous centuries did see a lot of killing over religion, including the Catholic Inquisition, Mohammed's conversion of the infidels, the Crusades, the Puritan witch trials, Henry the VIII's Anglican purge of English Catholics, Oliver Cromwell's killing of Irish Catholics, etc. Numbers-wise, however, they just don't add up to what happened in the 20 th century over godless Communism and godless Nazi-ism.

A lot of atheists and other non-believers seem to live in fear of Christians taking over their lives and their property by force. These people need to go back and take a look at the Roman Emperors and what they did to the Christians for over 300 years, until Emperor Constantine converted to Catholicism.  Those early Christians were fed to the lions alive, beheaded, and crucified by the hundreds of thousands to appease the bloodlust of the non-believers of those days. Based on that history, maybe it's the Christians who have more to fear from the non-believers of today and tomorrow!!
