It is 945pm in Hawaii.
I live in Lahaina. About 5 miles aways is a resort town called Ka'anapali. There is a multi vehicle accident blocking both northbound lanes. This accident happened about 18 minutes ago. Cars are backed up 6 miles and NOT MOVING.
West Maui is under a traffic crisis. This is beyond scary. There are so many people over here and there is only one road, no hospital, and a clean water shortage.
This accident should prove to our legislature that we are in a situation that is beyond a solution. This is why when you have concerns about the future you act on them now.
Very sad to see this happen to this beautiful place. |

Yes, I remember driving over there a few years back...they need to either widen the road or find another way around the island. I hate traffice, from the Northeast so we have that problem. LA is just as bad...maybe with gas prices get higher we can get the unecessary drivers out of the way. Very sad for Maui, beautiful island and the resorts are ruining it. I really enjoyed Kona....I stayed here: http://www.fourseasons.com/hualalai/ I suggest taking a trip here...or at least try to get somewhere close. The big island is just that, its HUGE. There is a noticable difference. |
