Shorting isn't easy. That is why I hate this stupid game.

I think I am only shorting because I feel pressure to perform.

I would rather NOT short EVER. Unless it is ETF's.

yeah i guess its like Oneill's short book says that you have to be persistant w/ shorting and could take 3rd or 4th try until it really breaks.......this mkt is tough to perform in, at least for me as i am doing well 1 week and crappy the next week and in the end i dont really get anywhere except spin my wheels, and i am not good at this short term trading positions for a couple days based on mkt indicators, too many smarter traders than me playing the mkt short-term, i dont feel like i have any edge

If you don't feel like you don't have an edge. Than don't trade. That is the best thing to do anytime you feel like you are lost.

I am spinning my wheels also so don't be upset if you are not making progress. This is a traders market and only smart futures traders like Y. Gross and some others I know are making money here. Just look at Y. Gross's performance compared to the overall market. I am well outperforming the market this year but since May I have done NOTHING. He, however, has increased his gains. That is another tip off that this is not a market for active investors; it is a market for active traders.

I hate reminding myself that I would rather never short by getting short..

I shorted RMBS near the close and I feel like crap about it..  I also feel like crap for not just getting out of it AH.

You can see why I would short a little RMBS, but you can also see why I would want to take it off if it doesn't work right away.

My headspace is all messed up here because I feel immediately guilty for taking any trade here that makes me uncomfortable right away.  I have a hard enough time with my longs because the market is overbought and lackadaisical etc etc.

Also, seeing GROW take off on a day when everything seems particularly unclear makes me think back to when I sold my big chunk to some lucky bastard around 15$.
That would have made my year to hold that and go on vacation for 6 months.

rmbs very strong volume accumulation drivng this bounce, its not a weak volume bounce like many charts........u see that RMBS broke back above 50dma and then 2 light down volume days w/ no pullback on Wed and Thurs this week after it had just rallied 70% off its bottom.....i looks like it will go higher not that i would go long w/ the 50dma in a downtrend and way below the 200dma......ugly chart but i wouldnt be short
