I believe ADM is going to report earning tom.
It has good fundamental.  Congress passed a law, enfore 20% ethonal in the tank.
ADM has largest production in corn, corns produce ethonal.  It is only producer in east coast.  West cost it is there is one plant, peix ( it is pure player ), I had a wild ride this year from 22 to 45. The transportation of ethonal is tough ( cannot done by truck ).  ADM has many other agriculture products ( the largest ),  sometimes it is fun to learn these stories.

It isn't just fun it is very important to know everything about the company you invest in "IF" it is a big position of your portfolio. If you only hold 2 or 3 stocks and use the CANSLIM method you should know those companies inside and out.

I'd rather miss OMNI and others right now in favour of swing trading in this environment.  I'm well tuned into your system and Rev's system so i'll know when to revert back to taking long positions on canslim stocks with good looking charts.

Speaking of your system, ...i know you always mention that you don't have good success with signaling out which of the stocks you are going with will particularly excel after you initiate a trade ... but it would be interesting if you prioritized a couple of the selections as being the ones that you have the greatest expectations for.

Ya i know, that cuts into surfing time.

My friend when we go live that will be clearly made. For now it is just open.

But I will seperate them

Speculative:

CANSLIM:

here is what OMNI looks like now and here is what it looked like the day I bought it. You would really rather miss this?

Just look at all that green. This is why the more green the better, normally. I always take these.

Quoted from ORKiter
we have some crazy momo players on this board .......i guess it all depends on what people's investment style because AKAM and LBIX ? yikes...LBIX is almost 200% above it 200dma moving avg ? crazy...both made huge runs (on weekly chart) and sure maybe go higher but also get drop 10% in a day with those charts  ......good luck to initiating new positions but mkt is crap why play the odds when majority stocks go with the trend. unless your timeframe is week to week.....there are other CANSLIM stocks also breaking out today (ie- ALJ and AXE ) but in this tape why risk it.....ps- goto investors site and look up old articles about the studies IBD did re: sell rules and % of stocks that come back to moving avg when they are 50-100% above 50and 200dma  - that will cause u to revaluate any buys like AKAM and LBIX especially in a down mkt  -

Agree completely OrKiter. But I like AXE and I have it on my screen, I'd like that it pullback a little in the coming week and then bounce up with great volume. if I'll see this I'm ready to get in.

Can someone explain BOP to me?  Is it just a tcnet thing, or do stockcharts.com, ibd, or anywhere else offer it?

Thank you for the comments on ADM, Josh.  I was not planning to buy it unless it broke out to a new high.  Huajian, you are right about the ethanol play, as well as it being one of the largest producers of biodiesel, which is a fast-growing alternative fuel, and the #1 stock in the #2 group on IBD.

So if it makes a new high, I think I might try a small test buy.

BOP is a tcnet thing. It is basically just systematic acc/distribution shown on a chart. For an indepth explanation go to the "help" section in you tcnet charts.

You know how I use it? A lot of green is good. A lot of red is bad.

Your are welcome for the ADM comments

In fact I had adm in my long term portfolio for some time.  That is why I can tell the difference bewteen mgpi, peix and adm, adm is not only ethonal play ( can you imagine 20% of each of your fill has to be ethonal ), so it is alternative energy play, plus it is agriculture commodity play.  Agriculture commoidty also follows foot step for base metal.  Plus it has nice technical.  So it is something you can sleep on for a while.
