josh, would you call the cup put in by erts classic?  if so, what paramaters would you look for i a handle addition?  

...i know it breaks the rules since it's not in an uptrend and below the 50, but depending on what you tell me for timeline for the handle, that would put erts closer to its seasonally strong and cyclically strong cycle strength.

ERTS is flawed ------1st off i would want right side needs to get back to 57 before starting handle and for cup/handle prior uptrend is a mess, handle  too short and volume patterns are all wrong

I will not analyze ERTS for you because the chart is horrible. It must be in an uptrend. I am sorry. There is not even a timeline for this one.

I don't know how to analyze this pattern. It's technical story doesn't tell me anything. I don't even think that is a cup.

I apologize but I can't even start on this. I have to stay true to myself and I would rather ignore this stock completely. Not worth wasting your time on it. Isn't there any other leaders in that sector with nicer charts?

but i am not saying it wont go higher w/ the nice volume today, jsut that the setup is flawed and gap ups in this mkt tend to get filled on the downside quickly - rolling the dice in this tape

oh i completely agree with both of you, but looking ahead, i think the gaming sector will be one of the top sectors on IBD 3 months from now, so i'm scanning for a stock that would lead at that point and may be putting in a chart from which to spring from.  The problem is that all the charts that would play this sector are so terrible.  I chose erts since it's best of breed in the sector, but if anybody has an idea come to them in the months to come on this sector let me know.

I agree with your statement but I am thinking the other gaming stocks will do well. We already know about the beautiful GPIC I am long but stocks like IGT (also long) ACP LVS GTK are leading now and will continue to lead in this sick market. Those charts are in much better shape short term and long term than the gaming stocks.


But Phailin I think you are seeing things correctly. If these charts can firm up over the next couple of months some of these video gaming stocks will look nice.

I am long BMRN. Not sure why you would want to buy it now with the current chart pattern but it is still a good stock.

I picked up this one sometime ago from your list, finally it break out.  According to O'Neil book, I guess that he will pick up this today at 15.10 pivot point.    However, one thing I observed that a much safe place to enter is when these guys pull back to 50 sma, risk reward point of view it is much better in this BEAR market.  Unless the break out is a perfect one.  

huajian this is not a proper breakout. Unless you see an ascending base pattern. What do you see? This isn't a proper base. It is a stock consistently in an uptrend bouncing off the 50 dma on strong volume. There is no breakout from any base really. I guess it could be called an ascending base but this is not that pretty of a chart to really say that this was a perfect ascending base breakout.

ONeil wouldn't go long this stock after today's breakout trust me. Look at the long term chart. This is just a tiny move from a huge pattern that has already seen big gains. He would not take this risk/reward ratio. This isnt its first base or second. It is just a continuation move.

GES: I guess I should have gone long today instead of putting in a radar screen.

You would think that Gues's next supermodel being from Maui Hawaii (Tori Praver) would be enough of a reason to confirm the breakout.

You want to see a bombshell check out this girl. I met her when she was 15 yrs. old. She had a friend that worked at Hula Grill which is on Ka'anapali Beach. Since when I first moved here I used to work there I saw this girl all the time. The first time I saw her I said HOLY SHIITE that girl is a supermodel. I was 22 or something at the time. My friend goes yeah that is Tori she is 15. I was stunned!!!! I guess if you have a brand new Guess catalog she should be on the cover. They are making her the next big thing. She is beyond HOT!!!!!!! You should see her in her bikini on the beach. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad she is now in New York City.

Actually I will not. That quickly I changed my mind. Maybe I will change it later but since the downtrend is so strong before this nice improper cup w/ handle bo I am going to avoid it.
