Vince,
my parent's computer has trouble with the cd rom. A disk is currently stuck in there, and it won't come out when you press the button. Do you know of any easy ways to solve this problem? The CD Rom is one where the trey slides out (not one that you just slide the cd into like my laptop).

start fresh with a new email address

do not post it anywhere

make 2 email address

one for your own private
one for your stuff you dont really care

Do not post your email address in forums or anything if you do

use like myemailaddress     @ hotmail.com

by doing this, the scanners people have who scan the web will not pick this up

do not sign up for anything like you can win this and that, its all bs

also dont forget the spam blocker

Thanks Vince I am going to try that it seems these people are going to groups i belong to in yahoo and they are acquiring the email names there because minystocks is just for all my finance and investing needs never do i go any where else with it or join with the name.. I mean how would it look if i joined all these business forums under the screenname Scandalist ....LOL  or sexyphilly LOL
it just gets me so mad that these people have nothing better to do than fill your box with crap  and they must go all over to acquire the names. I will definetely try your advice

xoxo

Well to make it easier for them, they just write up a program that will do the work.

Push one button and they could get thousands of emails

Got a question for you Vince.

In '99 when i first bought my first notebook and started posting at this site; stockhouse.com -- and i didn't realize that i offended others.   -- Got tos'd out many a times.   -- One time as I was typing away a post before hitting "send" -- As I was typing away, the letters started disappearing right before my eyes   -- like that visa commercial where all the #s disappear.   -- Did it mean that the guys at stockhouse.com were able to get into my pc and look at all of my private stuff ??

Just curious on how they were able to make my letters disappear as I was madly   typing away my post.

TIA

Buddie

If I could infect your computer with a virus, you wouldn't believe what kind of information I could get access to

Im pretty sure someone throught a bad script your way. Back than it was much easier to get into others peoples computers. Today is very hard, security has improved so much.

Vince....I really don't know how secure Stockhouse.com is. A couple of months ago I was using my MSN Messenger and was messaging back and forth with another stockhouse.com user. He messaged me a URL post he posted and I clicked on that url he gave me and then I thought I'd click on MY inbox and all of a sudden I was in HIS email box. Welllll...that realllly stunned me and I quickly got out of it and messaged him that I was able to access his inbox....Somehow by clicking on the url he gave me -- I ended up having access to his inbox. Not sure if you follow me. He good friend of mine ...Never read his inbox mail and told him to change his password. Methinks that there's a breach in Stockhouse.com's system. I recall a couple of years ago another fellow poster emailing me and telling me that he knew how he could read other people's inbox mail.LOL....In those days...I was green and not tech savvy...Not that I am now. Just thought I'd pass this along about Stockhouse.com's  lack of security.

Now...Speaking of viruses??? I once got a virus from the FBI...How did I know this?? Cause it was also addressed to the FBI and a couple of others who were on my email list. No "kid" will dare email the FBI without knowing that there would be reprisals. I emailed this virus to the FBI and told them to knock it off.   ...You see, I knew that the White House and the FBI were immuned to viruses. They also have WebTv -- which I also have...BUT the virus was directed to my pc instead of my webtv. I used to help this fellow poster from RagingBull -- we used to bombard the White House + FBI + all the media about E-Voting Fraud -- this was BEFORE it became the rage in the Media.   -- I guess it was the FBI's method of saying to moi -- to knock it off with all the emails.   -- They DON'T care -- They ALSO a CORPORATION portraying themselves as helping the people and briging justice to all...Yada...Yada...BoooHoo!!!

Vince!!! Vince!!! I KNOW I GOT HACKED by the BIG BROTHER aka  pol.ice last night!!!

http://www.discovervancouver.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10771&whichpage=3

I posted under "No-Tax/Tollgators" -- and they took over my pc -- and moniker -- and then changed my message to "I like kittens"!!!!LOLOLOL...and then "Truth" -- and they kept changing my message to "I like kittens" and I managed to do "POLICE" -- and got only 2 posts under it and then they changed my post to "I like kittens"

The minute my pc froze the first time -- I shut it down BUT in hindsight I should have yanked my "internet chord/connection" ???

Let me know what steps to take ..

thanks.

Buddie
