I just bought a brand new Computer, and a brand new HP Printer 3 in one,
( Copy - Fax - Scan ) - everything works great, but I can't receive any Faxes.
Did everything what it says in the Book, used the Wizard set up, but still I can't receive a fax.
I have only one phoneline ( fax and phoneline is the same )
A few friends tried to send me a fax , it rings, ( phone and fax at the same time ) but does not go thru.
Any Idea ?

That maybe the problem. Disconnect that and try the fax again

but my wife has a answering  machine in work, has the same phone # and it works great.

but I will try it.

I know some answering machines have a setting to allow faxing on the same line.

Make sure your printer has autoconnect on, with so many rings it will accept the call/fax

Yes Vince,
you were right, I had my answering machine in my bedroom,
had to bring it to my Recroome where the faxmachine is and connect it directly to the
3 in 1 printer.
Now eveything works great.
Thanks for your help Vince.
It's nice to have a person like you on this Site to help people with some problems.
