Question for the board;

I've been following this stock for a while. They seem to be doing a lot of testing of a new type of cellular phone, but they're also burning up a lot of cash doing so. The stock's 10 cents from a 52 week low - can some of our esteemed members take a look at this puppy and give your opinion(s) on whether it's worth sticking a toe into the waters at this level?

The 'other' boards (and you KNOW who I'm talking about) have wild and varying opinions ranging from 'the next best thing since sliced bread' to 'these guys are a bunch of crooks'. I'd like to get a more rational and educated opinion.

Thanks in advance.

OTC stocks are for trading imo not 'investing'.

Just checked the chart, the 50dma dropped below the 200dma recently after the stock had a good run up into the $1.50 area...and it traded alot of volume back in May/June by the look of things.  OBV shows distribution from early June to present.

They have been putting out alot of news lately, I count 7 PRs already in September...with 2 today.

FWIW it doesn't look to me like much excitement was generated by today's 2 PRs, only 25K trading last check and no change in the PPS.  I find otc/pink stocks can and do attract buyers talking about their expectations...which can lead to the PPS moving higher.  But with all the news here imo caution (as always) is probably wise.

Good luck.

Calypso Walks Away With Frost & Sullivan's Wi-Fi Technology of the Year Award

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept 28, 2005 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Frost & Sullivan is proud to present Calypso Wireless Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: CLYW), with the 2005 Wi-Fi Technology of the Year Award for its revolutionary automatic switching of network access points (ASNAP) patented technology (U.S. Patent number 6,680,923) that enables a seamless roaming between global systems for mobile communications (GSM)-based cellular / GPRS and 802.11-based Wi-Fi networks.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to a company that has demonstrated excellence in technology leadership within the wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) industry. The company must have developed and commercialized a technology solution that holds the potential of truly allowing convergence within the wireless domain.

"Convergence is fast becoming the buzzword of the industry, and solutions such as ASNAP(TM) are expected to emerge as leading offerings for convergent communications," says Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Vikrant Gandhi. "Wi-Fi hotspots are being installed at a rapid pace worldwide. However, the industry still lacks a true commercial offering that enables seamless roaming between the short-range Wi-Fi networks and the geographically widespread mobile networks."

Calypso C1250i dual mode WiFi-GSM-GPRS VoIP cellular phone that runs on Intel PXA series application processors and Microsoft WinCE 5.0 and roams between these two networks is more beneficial for data-intensive applications such as mobile video and data file transfers that leverage the high-data rates of Wi-Fi networks. GSM is the dominant mobile standard worldwide, and an integrated Wi-Fi/GSM solution presents an attractive value proposition in terms of global usage potential.

Calypso's ASNAP(TM) technology is designed to integrate all components of wireless communications and utilize its capacity without substantial investment costs. ASNAP(TM) is designed as a client server system that offers wireless local area network (WLAN) owners greater control over resource allocation. The technology also has an intrinsic authentication system that allows roaming only between those telecommunication service providers that have a business relationship in place.

ASNAP(TM) technology offers tangible benefits to WLAN and mobile operators. Routing mobile traffic through WLAN access points results in additional revenue streams for WLAN vendors. On the other hand, mobile operators can offer high-speed data services to more subscribers without a proportionate increase in data capacity. This also results in reduction of implementation costs and service costs for cellular operators. ASNAP(TM) can be used to offer both mobile devices as well as Personal Computer Memory Card International Association cards.

"Calypso was one of the first companies to introduce a mobile videophone that works seamlessly on both Wi-Fi and 3G technologies," notes Gandhi. "Calypso has successfully demonstrated the seamless flow of data while switching between a wireless connection from a cellular GSM/GPRS tower to a local Wi-Fi access point and back to GSM/GPRS again in field trials."

The company has also announced field trials with various companies worldwide, entered into technology collaboration agreements with leading organizations, and is a member of the Wi-Fi alliance.

The potential of integrated Wi-Fi/GSM phones is huge not only in the United States but also globally. Frost & Sullivan believes that ASNAP(TM) is the ideal answer to capitalize on this opportunity and presents the 2005 Wi-Fi Technology of the Year Award to Calypso Wireless in recognition of the technological capabilities of the ASNAP(TM) patented solution.

Held in Las Vegas, Frost & Sullivan's Mobile Communications Awards Banquet honors world-class companies for innovative developments that deliver unparalleled insight on wireless and mobile strategy, technology, platforms and services. An annual event, the banquet recognizes the quality and merit of distinguished individuals and companies.

CLYW has a strong balance sheet.  The company lost $2,833,518 last quarter  with no revenues.  I believe that they are issuing shares to stay afloat which is normal for a start-up company.  On 12-9-02 the outstanding shares stood at 100,136,000.
On 3-31-05 the count was at 119,137,929 so the management has been keeping the issuance of shares at a minimum.  It looks like the price of the shares has been instrumental in this control.  Once this company starts to generate revenues it should be very good for you.  I would say that patience is the key word here.  I would keep a close eye on the outstanding shares with 200 million as the authorized amount.  Good luck!

As usual, thanks to all for your insight.

May actually buy a little here, as the chart posted shows what might be a cup and saucer pattern - if you can actually hold pink sheet stocks to that type of investing criteria.

Thanks again.
