Sapper, I really don't know.  This seems to be a different ball game.  I believe that there will be about a three month stagnation in the price but it could continue up during that time.  The paper players must really be hurting about now and I know that they would welcome a price decrease in silver.

Today gold closed up $10.40 at $948.70 and silver closed up .70 at $18.71.

Wooow.....19.25 was the high during the evening/night trading oversees...

In London Silver is currently $19.33, up .62.  The silver lease rates have been dropped so that the one month, two month and the three month rates are negative again.  It would appear that the silver paper players will be opening the 30 story windows soon.

So the paper players are just about to commit suicide?  

That is what happened to many of the shorts and margin players in 1929.  It is not against the law to sell silver that you do not have but it is against the law not to cover.

Today gold closed up $10.20 at $958.90 and silver closed up .56 at $19.27.  So far this week gold is up $14.30 and silver is up $1.27.

Currently the euro is up over 3 1/2 cents against the US dollar so far this week.

Today gold closed up $4.80 at $974.30 and silver closed up .06 at $19.81.   For the week gold is up $29.70 and silver is up $1.81.  This week the euro gained .035 against the US dollar and the Canadian dollar gained .0252.  The gold/silver ratio for the week is 16.41 and the over-all ratio is 49.18.

GOLD set an historic high above $US975 ($104 overnight, propelled by speculative buying on the back of record high oil and a lifetime-low US dollar against the euro.
The metal pared gains later as some investors took profits, but market sentiment remained bullish. Silver jumped to a 27-year peak near $US20 an ounce before falling, while palladium surged nearly 4 per cent to its highest in more than six years.

Gold set a record for the third straight day, hitting $US975.90 an ounce before falling to $US971.10/971.85, versus $US968.90/969.70 in New York late on Thursday. It has risen 16 per cent this year on the top of 32 per cent rise in 2007.

No letup for PMs... I found pretty nice chart I quite concur with. Apparently silver is heading for 25.00. Still wondering about e.g. the spring correction.

Egyptian gold demand to grow strongly

Egypt's gold demand is likely to continue double-digit growth over the next five years as its economy expands, a World Gold Council official said.

"The market in Egypt is doing really well," Moaz Barakat, managing director of the industry-funded World Gold Council in the Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan, said.

"The economy is improving, many tourists are buying gold, and the government is reviving the market," he told Reuters.

Silver and gold are off to a good start this morning with gold currently up$6.60 at $980.90 and silver up .35 at $20.16.

Today gold closed up $9.20 at $983.50 and silver closed up .50 at $20.31.
